Last weekend, PETA held it’s annual holiday party at the Oakland office. We figured this was a great opportunity to release our holiday line of cinnamon rolls.

Now normally, I dread going to holiday parties. I usually find myself stuck in the middle of a bunch of people I have nothing in common with, smiling and nodding pretending to be interested in what the other person is saying while I scan the room and secretly try to devise a clever exit strategy. Thankfully, this wasn’t like that at all.

As soon as we got there, we grabbed a couple glasses of champagne, said some hello’s and gradually made our way to the food room to check out the spread. Table Nectar catering company provided all the goods. We grabbed a plate and filled it with sample bites of coconut polenta, butternut squash soup and raw vegan sushi. OMFG. I totally give them major points for the food, presentation and the fact that they cut and served our cinnamon rolls for us. (Thanks guys!) I was a little bummed to find out that the company wasn’t all vegan though. Booo. Still, amazing food though.

After the presentations and the rad video that recapped PETA’s 2009 achievements, our holiday line of cinnamon rolls were finally unveiled!!! We listened to the murmur of “Oohhh’s” and “Ahhh’s” around us and watched as people flocked to the table and packed their plates with our ooey, gooey Candy Cane, Gingerbread and Holiday Nog rolls. Our signature dough, drenched in our sweet cream ‘cheeze’ frosting, topped with crushed candy cane, gingerbread cookies and Silk soy nog with spicy nutmeg.

How’s that for festive!?

Stoked that our treats went over so well, we decided to mingle a while longer before packing it up and heading home. Before we even pulled into the driveway we were receiving email alerts for more holiday orders! Sweet!

This year has been beyond incredible for us. It’s been a challenge juggling our personal lives as well as going through the start up process to open our storefront. In the process of it all, we’ve met so many awesome people and are so thankful for each and every one of you who have supported us and continue to support us by spreading the word and buying our products. We are especially thankful for the opportunity to do business with organizations like PETA, Vegan Outreach & Farm Sanctuary that do such amazing things for animals all around the world. Thank you all for being a voice for those who have none. 

With our holiday cinnamon roll line finally released, it’s now time to sit back and relax with our loved ones…. and, of course, that one weird family member everyone seems to have.
